Founded in 1998, The Business Collaborative (TBC) is a business membership organization committed to expanding business partnerships that make a difference while making a profit. It was formed in the belief that as the American market becomes more diverse, American business can be more competitive by being more inclusive. Inclusiveness also has another benefit: it opens up the opportunity to make a substantial difference in the economic profile of those brought into the mainstream of the American business community.

TBC is a catalyst for inclusiveness that makes a difference in American business. Being "inclusive" in America can have various meanings. For TBC it means large companies doing business with small companies, particularly those run by entrepreneurs of color. In fact, its chosen mission is to facilitate the expansion of trade between medium to large corporations and business communities of color.

The Business Collaborative pursues its mission by creating a business network in which creativity is encouraged, trust is built, communication is strengthened and opportunities are generated. In addition to acting as a catalyst for this network, TBC services its members by helping them to:


	Identify and develop opportunities that can be the foundation for expanding or building new business relationships with entrepreneurs of color.

	Structure these opportunities in ways that permit them to be more easily transformed into actual transactions.

	Maintain or improve communications throughout the critical points in the process.

These services are provided through "best practices" symposiums, developmental workshops, member consultations and various brokering activities.

TBC will also provide customized services to its members such as in-house training, research, and planning.
